Art books are probably located in the 700s at your local public library -- that is, the call number on the book spine.

The Arts are divided by medium rather than subject, but here are some useful places to look. If you have trouble, just ask your librarian:

College and University libraries use a different system to organize books; it is based on the Library of Congress.  

Art books have call numbers that begin with N and photography books have call numbers that begin with TR.
