Are you looking for an encyclopedia, dictionary, almanac, atlas or other reference resource? Our reference collection is located on the lower level of Sherrill Library--you can browse the shelves or search the FLO catalog to find a particular resource. Feeling overwhelmed? Stop by the reference desk and ask for help!
What Can I Ask a Reference Librarian?
We are here to help you navigate the library and to help you get your research started!
We can help you at a number of stages in the paper-writing process.
If you need guidance with any of the following, ask us:
--learning to use the FLO catalog or any of the library's databases to find information
--pinpointing or narrowing down a topic or area of research for your paper
--finding books and articles on a specific topic
--tracking down a particular book or article that you want to locate
--formatting references for your paper
--finding reliable sources online
Of course, there are a few things we can't do.
We can't edit or proofread your paper or your reference list.
We can't write your paper for you.
We can't mail a book to you if you aren't able to make it into the library.
We really do love your questions, so please come and ask us!
