Lesley University Library Re-Opening Information Fall 2021

Welcome!

Welcome to your Lesley Library Fall 2021 Services Guide!  We continue to offer all of our services, virtually and remotely for now while we transition back to working on campus. Scroll down for updated info on all of our services and resources and how to access them.

Whether you're studying and creating on campus or from home this year, we've got your back!

Accessing Materials

Search for electronic materials you can access anywhere, and physical materials you can schedule for pick-up, using the @LL Search bar on the library homepage: research.lesley.edu

Instructions for Linking to Electronic Materials:

Click on the title of a resource in your search results to view the full record. Click the Permalink button on the right-hand side and copy that link that pops up (links copied from the URL bar at the top will not work for others even if they work for you).

Instructions for Requesting New Materials:

To request an addition to our collections for consideration, you may use our Resource Request form. We prioritize e-books and streaming media for course materials, and can even purchase electronic versions of current print holdings.

Instructions for Picking Up Physical Materials:

E-mail asklib@lesley.edu with your needs and we'll work out a solution with you.

Instructions for Returning Materials:

Checked out materials can be returned in the Library book drops outside of Sherrill Hall, Moriarty Library, and UHALL 3rd floor. Overdue fines will not accrue on Lesley materials this semester. Most previously borrowed materials have a due date of 10/1; please return them to us before your items are automatically marked as "Lost." If you want to keep them for longer or cannot return them right now, please email us.

Study Spaces

Study spaces in the Sherrill Hall upper and lower atrium, including desktop computers, printers, scanners and copiers, are available according to Sherrill Hall building hours, 7am to 10pm, 7 days a week.

Group study rooms are available on the Sherrill Hall lower level (Room 041) and first floor (Room 141). They are available by ID card access on a first come, first serve basis. Sherrill Rm 010 is available by ID card access when not in use for classes.

Study carrels on the Sherrill Hall 2nd and 3rd floors are unavailable due to construction.

Study spaces in the Lunder Arts Center are available, even when the study spaces inside Moriarty Library are not.  Computers and printers are also available in Lunder, on the lower level. Study spaces in the Lunder Arts Center will be available 7am to 12am, 7 days a week.

For available computers on campus, see Computer Lab & Printer Locations.

For other questions about room reservations, see Non-Academic Room Scheduling.

Library Access By Appointment

Our libraries will offer the following in-person services by appointment:

  • Viewing library-use-only materials such as psychological assessments from our Sherrill Library Test Collection
  • Browsing by appointment (all Moriarty collections are available to browse, by appointment; Some Sherrill Library collections are not always available to browse as they are in locked rooms but if you reach out to us we'll work out a solution with you!)

September By Appointment Hours:

  • Monday Through Friday – 9:00am - 5:00pm
  • Saturday – N/A
  • Sunday – 12:00pm - 5:00pm

Instructions for Requesting Appointment:

Alumni & Community Visitors:

Due to the University’s visitor policy this semester, alumni and community members will not have access to the libraries during this time. We’d like to redirect community users to your local public branch libraries for any immediate needs, as we are still loaning our materials through mail and state van transit to other libraries. We look forward to being able to serve you again soon.

Library Instruction & Reference

Ask Us Reference Services:

We will continue to provide the same high level of service for our reference services including live chat and virtual reference consultations.
