The Lesley University Library is now offering the New York Times in an improved format, directly through NYTimes.com. In order to access the New York Times through NYTimes.com, you'll need to follow these steps:

  • Visit here to claim your NYTimes.com pass.
  • If you do not have an existing NYTimes.com account with your Lesley.edu email address, click "Create Account." Otherwise, log in to your existing free account.
  • Complete the registration form, using your Lesley.edu email address. You may get a blank screen when your registration is complete--this is just a glitch. If you close this window and go to NYTimes.com, you should be able to log in!
  • Log in to NYTimes.com with your account!

Once activated, your pass will provide you access to NYTimes.com from any location, provided that you are logged in to the account associated with your pass.

Please note that your pass does not include access to NYT Cooking or Crosswords.

Newspaper Searching Tips

Saw a link to an interesting-looking article, but you've already hit your free-article limit? For the New York Times, double check to make sure you've claimed your pass and logged in!

For other newspapers, check to see if we have an Online Edition! There can be very slight differences between the print edition and online editions of many newspapers. To see if we have access, search the online edition for the article's title! Online editions of popular newspapers are linked below, but you can always search our journals list for (publication title) + "online".

The Boston Globe is available through ProQuest, and coverage is available from 1872-1989 as part of the Historic Boston Globe, and from 1980-current.
