Cell Phone Use Policy

To provide an environment conducive to study and research, we ask that you
observe the following cell phone courtesies inside the Library:

  1. Turn off or silence your cell phone, pager, or other electronic devices while in the library.  
  2. When receiving a call, please put the call on hold and move to a designated cell phone use area.  
  3. If making a call, please move to a designated cell phone use area to initiate your call.  

Persons receiving or making cell phone calls are requested
to do so in one of the following cell phone friendly areas:

  • 3rd Floor Elevator Lobby & Classroom Corrior
  • 2nd Floor Elevator Lobby & Classroom Corridor
  • 1st Floor: Elevator Lobby & Classroom Corridor

Note: There is no cell phone zone on the Lower Level.

Users engaging in cell phone conversations that disrupt the work of others will be
asked by Library staff to move to a designated Cell Phone Zone or to move their
conversation out of the Library. If you wish to report inappropriate cell phone use,
please contact a Library staff member at the nearest service desk. Physical Plant
and Public Safety personnel may use cell phones in all areas as needed.
