The Book I Need Is Checked Out

Is it available from another FLO library?

If yes, and you have an existing Library account, you may request that copy and have it delivered to either the Sherrill or Moriarty Library for pick-up (4-7 business days transit time):

  • Search for book title in FLO catalog.
  • Click on the title to open the record.
  • Click on “Make a Request” (under “Actions” on right-side of screen).
  • Login using your Lesley ID card’s barcode or student ID number, and last name.
  • Click on “Request from other library" (even if it is one of our copies).
  • Be sure to “Choose your pick-up library” (only Sherrill or Moriarty) using the drop-down menu.
  • Click “Submit.”

If the book is available and you have an active Lesley Library account, you may request that the title be delivered to either Sherrill or Moriarty Library for pick-up (4-7 business day transit time).


Not available from a FLO library or the Commonwealth Catalog?

Undergraduate students should contact a Research Librarian for assistance finding similar materials.

Master’s students, PhD students, staff, and faculty may request the item through ILLiad, our other interlibrary loan service:

  • Login to your ILLiad account at https://lesley.illiad.oclc.org/illiad/logon.html with your myLesley username and password.
    • First-time users must create an account after logging in.
  • ILLiad items usually arrive in 3 days to 2 weeks or more. Each ILLiad request is sent to a string of up to 10 lending institutions. Each institution has up to 4 business days to respond (weekends and holidays excluded) to the request. A request could therefore take up to 31 calendar days to move through an entire lending string.

Would rather wait until our copy of the book is returned? (Due date should display in FLO catalog)

You may request a hold so that you will be notified once the book is returned, and will have 10 days to pick it up from the library (either Sherrill or Moriarty).
